چکیده

Due to concerns over the resistance development existing pesticides, chemical poisoning among farmers, and residue on crops, sprung up a growing need develop new pest control strategies for utilization in protected houses Korea. A series of experiments tested technology using fumigant, ethyl formate, crops houses. It was revealed that glasshouse inadequate fumigation system fumigant since formate gas sharply decreased due leaking through gaps between glass frames. On other hand, concentration stable during process. Experiments were also conducted evaluate its phytotoxicity cucurbits (yellow melon). The fumigated at 20 °C three schedules (2, 4, 12 h). results developmental stages yellow melon showed no sign all conditions. However, damaged shoots red pepper higher humidity longer duration. Interestingly, Bemisia tabaci (100%) completely killed these Based above high efficacy zero phytotoxic effects melon, verification effectiveness thrice farmer’s vinyl once cucumber house. Results demonstrated 2 h g m−3 could 100% kill adults with effect crops. Therefore, we conclude 2-h would be alternative spraying methods.

Protecting Unrooted Cuttings From Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera Aleyrodidae) During Propagation

In North America, the sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci Genn., is an important pest of greenhouse poinsettia. Growers have limited options to control this pest during propagation of cuttings, which are rooted under mist for several weeks. Early establishment of this pest increases the difficulty of managing the whitefly and retaining high aesthetic standard during the remaining crop producti...

Low polymorphism revealed in new microsatellite markers for Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae).

The silverleaf whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) is actually a complex of morphologically indistinct species that vary in their capacity to transmit plant viruses and to induce physiological disorders in plants of economic importance. The worldwide impact of this whitefly has increased greatly, as it is a vector of various types of phytovirus, especially geminiviruses, in plants of economic impor...

Quantifying Conservation Biological Control for Management of Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) in Cotton.

Conservation biological control can be an effective tactic for minimizing insect-induced damage to agricultural production. In the Arizona cotton system, a suite of generalist arthropod predators provides critical regulation of Bemisia tabaci Gennadius (MEAM1) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) and other pests. Arthropod predator and B. tabaci populations were manipulated with a range of broad-spectrum a...

Monitoring changes in Bemisia tabaci (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae) susceptibility to neonicotinoid insecticides in Arizona and California.

Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) biotype B is a highly prolific and polyphagous whitefly that established in much of North America during the 1980s. Neonicotinoid insecticides have been fundamental in regaining control over outbreak populations of B. tabaci, but resistance threatens their sustainability. Susceptibility of B. tabaci in the southwestern United States to four neonicotinoid insecticides ...

Discovering new insect viruses: whitefly iridovirus (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae: Bemisia tabaci).

Adult whiteflies, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius), collected from the field were screened for viral pathogens using a cell line from the silverleaf whitefly, B. tabaci, B biotype (syn. B. argentifolii). Homogenates from the field-collected whiteflies were applied to cell cultures and checked for cytopathic effects (CPE). Cells were observed to develop cytoplasmic inclusions and to have a change in m...
